Mrs. Fizzah Hussain Qadri delivered an inspiring address at the closing ceremony of the Dawra-e-Qur’an series, a spiritually enriching Qur’anic journey organized by Minhaj College for Women in collaboration with the Al-Hidayah Department during the blessed month of Ramadan.
In her talk, Mrs. Fizzah beautifully conveyed the significance of completing the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, supported by impactful narrations from classical Islamic sources. She began by quoting a hadith from al-Mu’jam al-Kabir in which the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said that whoever completes the Qur’an is granted a supplication that is surely accepted.
She further highlighted the noble practice of Hazrat Anas bin Malik (rad), who would gather his family upon finishing the Qur’an and make special dua for them, as reported in the same collection. Mrs. Fizzah emphasized that such moments should be used to seek Allah Almighty's mercy not just for oneself, but for loved ones as well.
Quoting a narration from Sunan al-Darimi, she moved the audience by mentioning that when a person completes the Qur’an and makes dua, four thousand angels say “Ameen” to their prayer. She explained that this powerful moment is one of immense spiritual elevation, one that should be treasured and maximized.
Another impactful narration she shared was also from Sunan al-Darimi, in which it is stated that the one who attends the gathering at the beginning of Qur’anic recitation is like one who witnesses a victory in the path of Allah Almighty, and the one who attends the completion is like one who takes part in the distribution of war booty. Mrs. Fizzah used this narration to stress the honor and blessing of simply being present in gatherings of the Qur’an, especially at their completion.
Held during the spiritual retreat of Itikaf, the ceremony carried an atmosphere of deep reflection, connection, and gratitude. Scholars of Minhaj College for Women shared emotional reflections on their experience of the Dawra-e-Qur’an, expressing how it deepened their understanding and relationship with the divine message. A collective dua was made for the acceptance of all recitations, learnings, and prayers made throughout the series.
