Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has stated that those who strive and assist in safeguarding Allah’s religion are granted increased guidance and protection by Allah. He said that the era we are living in is one of great trials and tribulations.

"Turn on the TV, and there is nothing but immorality and corruption. Open a cellphone, and the same evil prevails. Schools and colleges, besides education, have become places where friendships lead to indecency, immodesty, and a decline in noble values," he said while explaining the modern-day social challenges.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that everywhere, forbidden acts and unethical practices have become rampant. The distinction between halal and haram has faded, envy and hatred have taken root in hearts, and accusations against one another have become common. He said that it appears as though the effects of hell have descended upon our society, or perhaps we are already living in a form of hell in this world. In such circumstances, it is imperative to establish a paradise within this very hell, he opined.

He further stated that it is an immense responsibility to combat the menace of atheism and denial of Allah’s existence, to reconnect broken ties with Allah, and to strengthen one’s bond with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

"To teach goodness in an age of wickedness, to uphold Tawheed (monotheism) in times of disbelief, and to safeguard the moral integrity of the youth in such an environment is a noble endeavor".

Shaykh-ul-Islam stated that everyone involved in this righteous effort deserves congratulations. He said Allah has not forbidden love for one’s children, home, parents, spouses, and wealth, but He has set a limit to these affections. Above all these loves, the love of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ must prevail, ensuring that worldly relationships remain balanced under the light of faith and that Allah’s pleasure remains paramount.

Dr. Qadri further emphasized that any act carried out in the path of Allah, whether to seek His pleasure or to spread His religion, falls under the category of Jihad fi Sabilillah (striving in the way of Allah). The ultimate objective, he said, is to serve the religion with sincerity and convey Allah’s commands to the world. He said if worldly affections overpower the love of Allah, the system of life collapses. Such heedlessness invites divine punishment, which, when it descends, leaves nothing untouched.

He said that people are subjected to disgrace and humiliation, forced to live lives worse than slaves. We may not be able to change the circumstances of everyone, but we can certainly transform ourselves.

"If you bring a revolution within yourself, no obstacle can stand in your way. There is a whole world within you—transform that first," he urged the residents of Itikaf City.

"Control your desires, bring about a revolution in your inner self. The efforts and struggles that must be made outwardly should first be made within the heart and soul. Remember, the foundation of this transformation is Divine Love," he went on explaining the concept.

Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri warned that today, we have forgotten Allah. If, on the Day of Judgment, Allah forgets us, what will become of us? Do we feel the warmth of Allah’s love in our hearts? If not, we must reflect upon our condition because true success lies in a heart that is filled with the remembrance and love of Allah. When a person sacrifices their desires for the sake of Allah and annihilates their own self in submission to the Divine, then Allah takes responsibility for all their affairs. Love is not just a verbal claim; it should be felt in the heart and soul. It should be reflected in one’s actions, character, and thoughts.

Love is not merely for show—it must manifest in every aspect of life, he said while concluding the lecture.
