Scholars with Profound Knowledge Refrain from Issuing Takfir Fatwas: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri
Youth Should Avoid Gatherings Filled with Disrespect, Insults, and Slander – Address at Itikaf City
In Minhaj-ul-Quran International’s Itikaf City, renowned Qaris from Iran, invited as special guests, delivered deeply moving recitations of the Holy Quran, enhancing the spiritual and ecstatic atmosphere of the gathering. Thousands of participants expressed immense appreciation. After Taraweeh prayers, Ustadh al-Qurra Qari Ahmad Abu al-Qasimi, Qari Muhammad Amin Nabi Lou, Qari Abu al-Fazl Nabi Lou, Navid Poushki, and Ali Rasti presented their recitations.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council, warmly welcomed the Iranian Qaris and extended his congratulations on their participation.
Meanwhile, the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran, Shaykh-ul-Islam Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, addressed thousands of attendees during the third intellectual and training session of Itikaf City. He emphasized that true knowledge of religion and divine love instills good character, humility, refinement, and politeness in a person. He asserted that a person who is truly devoted to Allah never declares others as disbelievers (Takfir).
Shaykh-ul-Islam further stated that those who possess deep religious knowledge never engage in abusive language, baseless allegations, or Takfir fatwas. He urged the youth to avoid gatherings where insults, sectarianism, and slander prevail. "Stay away from those who claim to be scholars but constantly spew venom, look down on others, and belittle them. If their knowledge has not benefited them, how can it benefit others?" he questioned.
Dr. Qadri emphasized that one of the greatest attributes of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was his impeccable character. He stated that without love and reverence, beneficial knowledge cannot be attained. When a person experiences true divine love and the sweetness of faith, their thoughts, speech, and actions become pure, and they are cleansed of worldly greed and selfish desires.
He further explained that those who are truly devoted to Allah never hurt others, never use abusive language, never insult or demean anyone, and do not conspire to tarnish someone’s honor. Instead, they embody humility, kindness, and loyalty, serving as a source of goodness for humanity. "If a person lacks these qualities, regardless of their claims to knowledge and wisdom, the youth should distance themselves from such gatherings," he advised.
