Chairman of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Supreme Council, Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, delivered a training lecture on "The Life of Prophets and Principles of Character Building" at Itikaf City. He stated that Allah Almighty mentions the Prophets to guide and purify people. Narrating the lives of the Prophets is both a Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and a divine tradition. He said that Allah has presented the noble personality of the Holy Prophet ﷺ as a perfect role model for the Muslim Ummah. Through these narratives, Allah wants people to repeatedly reflect on the piety, patience, contentment, and devotion to monotheism of His Prophets so they may take inspiration from them. These righteous and blessed individuals are the ones who attain success in both this world and the Hereafter.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further explained that when the disbelievers and polytheists subjected the Holy Prophet ﷺ to hardships, Allah Almighty comforted him by narrating the trials of previous Prophets. The difficulties of Prophet Yunus (AS) in the belly of the whale, the patience of Prophet Ayyub (AS), the imprisonment of Prophet Yusuf (AS), the ordeal of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in the fire of Nimrod, the suffering of Prophet Isa (AS), and the perseverance of Prophet Musa (AS) against Pharaoh’s tyranny were all mentioned in the Qur'an to reassure and strengthen the resolve of the Prophet ﷺ.

The fundamental lesson from these accounts is that Allah is all-powerful and never abandons His steadfast believers, he said.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that prophets are the leaders of nations, and an exemplary leader is one whose patience and endurance are as strong as a mountain. A true leader endures hardships to ensure the peace and security of society. A leader raises awareness among the people so that no one can enslave them by force or exploit their ignorance. He said that the hardships endured by the Prophets collectively were borne by the Final Messenger, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, alone. Yet, despite the most challenging circumstances, he (PBUH) never cursed his Ummah. Instead, he (PBUH) always supplicated, saying, “O Allah! Bestow upon my Ummah the treasures of guidance and grant them honor and elevation in this world and the Hereafter.”

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized that the biographies of the Prophets play a fundamental role in character-building. One of the greatest qualities of the Prophets was their ability to communicate with people according to their intellectual and mental capacities. Allah repeatedly mentions various lessons in the Qur’an to ensure that certain truths are deeply ingrained and internalized.

The Chairman of the Supreme Council elaborated that repetition is an effective method of communication. When Allah sent Prophet Musa (AS) and Prophet Harun (AS) to Pharaoh, He instructed them to speak to him gently. Good conversation cultivates beauty in human nature. If Allah reiterates certain lessons in the Qur'an, why should we feel hesitant in repeating essential teachings for clarity? This point should be particularly observed by scholars, preachers, parents, teachers, spiritual guides, and public speakers.

He concluded the lecture by stating that engaging in dialogue with sincerity and a positive mindset is also a tradition of the Prophets. If someone persists in wrongdoing, it is the duty of knowledgeable and righteous individuals to continue guiding them with gentleness and a sincere intention to bring about their reformation.
