President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, addressed the Women's Retreat Center on the topic of "The Concept of Women Empowerment."
He said that this concept is indeed a gift from Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him); however, the concept being promoted and advertised on media and social media platforms, or the praise of women empowerment that we hear every day, is by no means from Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him); rather, it has been imported from the West.
Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further stated that the concept of women empowerment is one that Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him) bestowed upon humanity 1450 years ago when it was not even in anyone's imagination. Islam not only introduced this concept but also implemented it.
He said that unfortunately, our sisters and daughters, who have embraced this concept of empowerment as their right in universities, colleges, and society, are distancing themselves from Islam and pushing themselves towards divine punishment.
The President MQI said that the concept of women empowerment is correct if it is Islamic, but if it is derived from the West, then we do not accept such a notion. He continued to say that in the Western notion, fundamental rights, education, employment, freedom in decision-making, inheritance rights, legal rights, and marital matters are talked about in terms of individual will, and these are not only correct but are also given by Islam.
He however added in the same breath that labeling the deviation from Islamic injunctions and teachings as women empowerment is certainly incorrect. Today, fulfilling one's desires, i.e., deviating from the commands of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him), has been termed as women empowerment.
The President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International congratulated the central team of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League and all the organizers on the splendid arrangement and exemplary management of the Women's Retreat. He prayed for acceptance from Allah, the Lord of Honor, for everyone present here and urged them to benefit from the teachings and guidance of Shaykh-ul-Islam and make their proximity to him a means of blessing in their future lives.
