Al-Mu'takif must include the following deeds in his routine during spiritual retreat:

• Recitation of the Qur'an

• To keep the tongue busy with seeking blessings for and sending salutations to the Prophet(PBUH)

• To study or teach religious sciences

• Give good advice and admonition

• Standing up in optional worshipful service of Allah, offering prayer

• Busying oneself with the remembrance of Allah.
