If somebody made a vow that he would observe a three-day spiritual retreat for Allah’s sake if such and such matter were resolved. This obligates spiritual retreat upon him and he has to perform it once that matter is resolved. This is necessary seclusion and requires intention and fasting as an essential part, it cannot be performed without being accompanied by intention and fasting.
