Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri asks people to adopt simple means of living to fight inflation

MQI founding-leader and patron-in-chief Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the people should understand this clearly that the skyrocketing inflation is here to stay and there is no way it is going to come down in the foreseeable future. He said that they would have to find a solution to their problems by deciding to live within their means.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri asked the people to adopt a simple way of living, have simple food, remould their lives according to the Islamic teachings and do away with what is unnecessary and wasteful spending. He said that instead of making oneself a slave of one’s desires and temptations, if one learns to live within the available resources, it would lessen the burden that they are facing due to the massive surge in the cost of living.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said when we stop looking towards others, comparing ourselves with them and start relying on the permissible sources of living, we can become self-sufficient, adding that in such a situation, Allah’s blessings will also be included in our endeavours. He said that we should live with dignity and desist from using the cost of living crisis, and poverty to justify the resort to earning livelihood from the forbidden means.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that if the power to end injustice, distribute wealth and eliminate inequality rests with the educated people who fear Allah, the situation would improve. He said that Allah loves those who are pure and earn their living through pure and transparent means. He said that only those prayers are granted that are made by the people with the lawful means of income. He said that we should focus on the ways through which we are earning our living in order to address the worry that arises out of the non-acceptance of the prayers, adding that if we adopt this habit of self-accountability, our problems would just go away.

Thousands of people are attending the Itikaf under the banner of MQI.
