If one's morality and social behavior are not good, then worship cannot benefit. Those who ignore their parents, relatives and neighbours will be deprived of Allah's mercy on the Day of Judgment. Dishonesty in trust and the resort to lies and half truths have become our second nature. It is important to get rid of these ailments.

MQI founding-leader and patron-in-chief Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while addressing the thousands of the residents of Itikaf City in Township Lahore. He said that Allah Almighty showers His blessings on all such people who remain pleased with Him in every circumstance. He said that benevolence is the spirit of Islamic teachings and the means to win the nearness of Allah Almighty.

It is important to mention that Shaykh-ul-Islam will deliver his keynote speech at the International Spiritual Gathering on the 27th of the holy month of Ramadan and will make a special Dua. Tasbeeh prayer will also be offered on the occasion. The speech of Shaykh-ul-Islam will be broadcast around the world at 1 am (Pakistan standard time).

Meanwhile, Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri gave a talk on the subject of spending in the way of Allah after Asr prayer. He said that the Islamic edifice stands erected on the pillars of Zakat, donations and spending in the way of Allah. He said that the aim of every Islamic activity is the elimination of poverty and economic backwardness. He said that the well-to-do companions of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) would spend in the way of Allah generously. He said that if their charity is translated in today's currency, then it is safe to say that every good deed involved millions of dollars. He said that it is Allah's promise that He would not let those become destitute who spend in His way.
