Thousands of the faithful from across Pakistan as well as the UK, America, Canada, and other countries have joined the Itikaf City of Minhaj-ul-Quran International this evening. MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated the residents of Itikaf City and said that they are blessed people of Allah, as they have dedicated ten days for His worship away from the hustle and bustle of life. He said that Itikaf is a great time for introspection, self-analysis and reform, adding that the faithful should try to make the most of the opportunity by focusing on enlightenment of their heart and soul.

Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President MQI Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur and other senior leaders warmly welcomed the people on their arrival at the Itikaf City. They advised the administrative committees to leave no stone unturned to serve the guests of Allah and MQI.

It is important to mention that the arrangements have been made at the Itikaf City for the provision of clean drinking water as well as round-the-clock medical service to the residents where a team of doctors and paramedical staff has been deputed. A special monitoring cell has been set up for the uninterrupted provision of service to the people. CCTV cameras have also been installed inside as well as outside the City for fool-proof security. Special police deployment has been made to ensure free flow of traffic on the roads near Itikaf City.

The proceedings of the 30th Itikaf got underway after Maghrib prayer. The sight of thousands of the faithful offering prayers together created an enchanting spiritual atmosphere. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri would deliver his special lecture on the topic of “Declining social values and the Quranic Commandments” after Isha and Tarawih prayers. The MQI scholars will give their talks on different Islamic topics during the course of ten days of Itikaf.

Mufi-i-Azam Minhaj-ul-Quran International Mufti Abdul Qayyum Khan Hazarvi will hold a special intellectual sitting after every Asr prayer where he would answer the questions of the residents of Itikaf City. Internationally renowned Naat Khawan will mesmerize the audience with their melodious voices after Tarawih and Isha prayers.
