Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that Islam is a complete code of life encompassing all of its facets and walks. He said that our great faith furnishes guidance to individual, family and society at every level. He said that it is for this reason that Islam has been described as a faith and not a religion. He said that beauty of Islam is that it offers solution to all problems associated with every facet of life including social, political, economic, industrial, familial and conjugal life. He said that the blessed personality of the Holy Prophet (SAW) will continue to remain ideal for people of all walks of life belonging to different cultures, civilizations and religions.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while addressing thousands of women at the Itikaf City. He said that the way Holy Prophet (SAW) protected the rights of women will continue to confer equal rights on the women of all societies by saving them from exploitation and oppression till the times to come.
Dilating on women's rights in Islam, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that by making marriage conditional on acceptance of proposal by girls, Islam has conferred equality of status and respect on women. He said that performance of domestic chores was not decreed by religion but it has become part of our local culture. Islam did not make such things binding on her. He said that wives do a favour to their husbands by choosing to perform domestic chores, adding that the husbands should treat them well.
Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri further said that offering good food to the wife and kids away from routine food they eat is far better than spending to make others eat in the way of Allah. He said that books on Hadith were full of instructions regarding excellent treatment of women in all relations. He said that it is regrettable that our society is the worst when it comes to treatment of women. He said that the rights of women are violated with abandon. So much so that she is punished for small and minor mistakes. He said that Almighty Allah and the Holy Prophet (SAW) have dubbed such a person as mean as uses violence against women.
